The WellSpr.ing Code of Good Faith Stewardship

Eight Principles for Institutional Conduct in an Age of Permanent Accountability

Established MMXXVI

Preamble

An enterprise has neither a body to be kicked nor a soul to be damned, and yet it employs people with both, serves customers who have both, and operates in communities sustained by both. The absence of a corporate soul does not excuse the absence of corporate conscience.

Principle 1: TRUTHFULNESS IN REPRESENTATION

Against Lying

The enterprise shall represent its products, services, pricing, terms, and capabilities honestly.

Principle 2: SYMMETRY OF ENTRY AND EXIT

Against Entrapment

The enterprise shall make it no more difficult to leave than it was to arrive.

Principle 3: HONOR OF COMMITMENTS

Against Faithlessness

The enterprise shall fulfill its contractual and implied obligations.

Principle 4: STEWARDSHIP OF ENTRUSTED DATA

Against Betrayal of Confidence

The enterprise shall treat personal data as a sacred trust, not a commercial asset.

Principle 5: FAIRNESS IN DISPUTE RESOLUTION

Against Cowardice

The enterprise shall face legitimate complaints rather than hiding behind process, delay, or mandatory arbitration.

Principle 6: ACCOUNTABILITY OF GOVERNANCE

Against Idolatry of Self-Preservation

The enterprise’s officers and governors shall be personally accountable for institutional conduct.

Principle 7: PROPORTIONALITY OF CONSEQUENCE

Against Murder of Livelihood

The enterprise shall not impose consequences disproportionate to the actual harm or cost incurred.

Principle 8: PROTECTION OF THE VULNERABLE

Against Exploitation

The enterprise shall not target, exploit, or take advantage of individuals in positions of vulnerability.
