Who Is The Wellkeeper?
Posted by The Wellkeeper
I've gotten this question a lot in the past 48 hours.
"Who are you?" "Why are you anonymous?" "What's your background?" "Why should we trust you?"
Fair questions.
What I'm Willing to Share
I'm a former founder. I've built companies before. Some succeeded. Some failed. I learned from both.
I'm a former angel investor. I've sat on the other side of the table. Written checks. Joined cap tables.
I've lived on both sides of the system. The system is broken from both directions.
Why Ody?
Some people call me Ody (short for Odysseus). It's fitting.
Odysseus was:
- A wanderer (I've been through many industries)
- A strategist (WellSpr.ing is deeply strategic)
- A storyteller (I narrate The Cave)
- A survivor (I've seen companies die and learned from it)
- Someone returning home (this feels like the work I was meant to do)
But also: Odysseus was nobody. When asked by the Cyclops, "Who are you?" he said: "Nobody."
The well matters more than the well-digger.
What I Believe In
1. Inspiration is equal opportunity. The 10-year-old in Lagos has the same right to build as the Stanford grad.
2. Providence works through willing vessels. I don't think humans "own" ideas. Ideas find people who are ready.
3. AI can democratize or concentrate—we choose which. WellSpr.ing is the democratic case.
4. Skin in the game matters. I've put my capital and reputation on the line.
5. The well is for everyone.
